The hospitality sector continued its expansion in January, with major brands announcing new properties, partnerships, and loyalty program updates. From luxury ski resorts to celebrity-chef meal deliveries, the industry is adapting to evolving traveler preferences and technological advancements.
New Openings and Expansions
Several key developments mark the ongoing growth of major hotel chains. Waldorf Astoria is slated to open a ski-in, ski-out resort in Deer Valley East Village, Utah, in 2028. The 132-key property will include branded residences, a ski valet, and a unique cantilevered pool overlooking the slopes. This expansion positions Waldorf Astoria among other luxury brands in the area, including Canopy by Hilton, Grand Hyatt, and Four Seasons.
Meanwhile, Six Senses is expanding into Southern Utah, bringing its wellness-focused approach to the region. In London, the highly anticipated Six Senses London is finally opening in March after years of delays, offering 109 rooms near Kensington Palace.

These updates demonstrate that hospitality providers are increasingly focused on providing experiences beyond just lodging, integrating dining, wellness, and location-specific offerings.
